Golf Digest has announced its annual list of the top 100 golf courses in the United States for 2017-2018, as well as course rankings for each state. The top four courses in Kentucky remained unchanged from the 2016-2017 season, with the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville taking top honors once again. Louisville’s fourth representative in the top 10, the Persimmon Ridge Golf Club, was a new entry on the list, joined by the University of Louisville (UofL) Golf Club in Simpsonville, another first-time entry. Persimmon Ridge and the UofL Golf Clubs ranked No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. The newly ranked courses pushed Champion Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville out of the top 5 to No. 8. The top 10 was rounded out by Mount Sterling’s Old Silo Golf Club and the course at Dale Hollow Lake State Park in Burkesville.
